Dreaming of a better future?

As the summer break approaches for many of us, you may be giving consideration as to what to read. If like me you find that you do not have enough time to read except when on a break, then the choice of book is all important! There are some great recommendations in The Guardian on books to inspire change.

Personally if I were to add my own recommendation, it would be the classic, short but incredibly powerful account of Victor Frankl, Man’s Search for Meaning, which – as wikipedia as ever succinctly summarises – is him “chronicling his experiences as a prisoner in Nazi concentration camps during World War II, and describing his psychotherapeutic method, which involved identifying a purpose in life to feel positive about, and then immersively imagining that outcome.” Though written 75 years ago, it is as resonant today as it has ever been.

About thesocialenterprise

The Social Enterprise was established in 2007 by David Russell to develop creative and innovative approaches for individuals and organisations that seek to deliver social value. We work with charities and businesses, and our starting point on any project is to determine how we will generate a return on investment in our services – whether through a more effective working approach or delivering greater social impact.
